The Environment and us
Here at Worlds Apart® we recognize that our activities have an impact on the environment and we are committed to minimizing these wherever possible. We are all concerned about our environment, and believe we should do whatever we can to protect it whenever we can.
We endeavour to go beyond all relevant environmental legislation and will take action to ensure continual improvement in our environmental performance across all our activities, products and services. We have a dedicated team who are continuously looking to develop and explore new areas where we can improve our environmental performance and this year, are proud to have achieved ISO14001.
In particular we:
Formally consider the environmental impact of a product during the development process
Use resources wisely by reducing, reusing or recycling materials wherever possible
Improve the efficiency of energy use in our buildings and processes
Minimise water use in our buildings and processes
Take environmental considerations into account when selecting our suppliers and contractors
Prevent or minimise the risk of pollution arising from our operations
We ensure this policy is implemented throughout our operations by:
Ensuring all of our employees understand the environmental impacts of their own activities
Informing all suppliers, contractors and sub-contractors of the requirement to comply with this policy when providing goods and services
Periodically reviewing the environmental issues at the highest level within the organisation
Reviewing this policy and its effectiveness on an annual basis
